Privacy policy

What happens to the personal information you send us through this website, and what we do and do not do with it.

About this policy

Reliance Development Group (referred to below as “we”, “us” and “our”) is committed to protecting personal information and handling it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This website is a showcase for our developments, and it takes enquiries. There is one contact form on it, and the whole of what happens to a submission is that it reaches us so we can reply. This policy covers that, and the information you give us when you contact us by phone or email.

Your use of this website is also governed by our terms of use, which set out how the project information, imagery and plans published here may be relied on.

Who we are and how to contact us

Reliance Development Group is a property development business based in Sydney, New South Wales, delivering residential developments Australia wide.

You can contact us about anything in this policy by email at info@reliancedg.com or by phone on 1300 667 056.

You may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where that is practicable, though we cannot answer a property enquiry without a name and a way of contacting you.

What we collect, and how

What we hold is what you give us when you enquire, together with standard technical information about your visit. We collect it directly from you — through the contact form, or when you email us, call us or speak to us in person. The technical information is collected automatically as you use the site.

We do not seek sensitive information as it is defined in the Privacy Act, and we ask that you do not send it to us through this website.

  • Your name.
  • Your email address, and your phone number if you give us one.
  • Your message, anything else you choose to tell us in the form, and any correspondence that follows between us about it.
  • Technical and analytics information: browser and device type, approximate location, the page that referred you, and the pages you view here.

Government-related identifiers

We do not adopt a government-related identifier — a tax file number, Medicare number, driver licence number or passport number — as our own identifier for you, and we do not use or disclose one except where the Privacy Act allows it.

Nothing on this website asks for one. We collect one only where the law requires it, or where it is genuinely necessary to verify your identity for a transaction with us, and you can always ask us why.

Children and young people

This website is directed at adults considering a property purchase, and it is not intended for children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through it, and if we become aware that we have, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will deal with it.

Why we collect it

We use what you send us to answer your enquiry and deal with you about it. That is the purpose, and it stays that narrow: if the enquiry becomes a longer conversation about a development, we use your details to carry it on.

We do not run a mailing list. Submitting the form does not subscribe you to anything, we do not send development updates, release announcements or other marketing from what is collected here, we do not sell personal information, and we do not give it to other organisations for their own marketing.

Otherwise we use it only where we have to — where the law requires it, or to deal with a complaint or dispute about a matter it relates to.

What happens to an enquiry

When you submit the contact form, the details you enter are sent to us as an email. The website does not keep a copy: there is no database, no customer relationship system and no mailing list behind it, and an enquiry cannot be retrieved from the site afterwards.

From there your enquiry is an email in our mailbox, kept the way our business correspondence is kept. We are not going to promise you a fixed deletion date for it. What we will say is that it is used for nothing beyond the purposes above, and that if you ask us to delete an enquiry you sent, we will unless we are required to keep it.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls on the mailbox enquiries arrive in. No transmission over the internet is guaranteed to be secure, and what you send us online is sent at your own risk.

Who we disclose information to

We do not disclose enquiry information outside our business as a matter of routine. Submitting the form does not hand your details to a selling agent, a builder, a broker or a financier. The disclosures we do make are these.

  • The service providers that run this website and our email — hosting, delivery of form submissions, email and analytics — which handle it only to provide those services to us.
  • Our professional advisers, where we need advice on a matter it relates to.
  • Government, regulatory or law enforcement bodies, where the law requires or authorises us to disclose.

Overseas disclosure

Hosting, email and analytics services are commonly provided from outside Australia, so information collected through this website may be stored or processed overseas. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

If you would like to know where information collected here is held, ask us and we will tell you what we can.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and where they run into trouble.

Analytics information is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though parts of this site may not work as intended if you do.

Data breaches

We take reasonable steps to prevent a data breach, including access controls on our systems and choosing service providers who can protect what we pass to them.

If a breach does occur and it is likely to result in serious harm to anyone whose personal information is involved, we will act under the notifiable data breaches scheme in Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth): contain it, assess it promptly, and notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the scheme requires. Where we cannot identify who is at risk, we will publish the notification and take reasonable steps to bring it to their attention.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. For anyone who has used this site, that is ordinarily the enquiry you sent and the correspondence that followed.

Email info@reliancedg.com with enough detail for us to identify it, and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is normally no charge. If we refuse a request we will tell you why in writing, and how you can complain about that decision.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us at info@reliancedg.com with the details. We will investigate and respond to you in writing within a reasonable period, ordinarily within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our business, our systems or the law.

The version published on this page is the current one and applies from the date shown above, so please check back from time to time.
